MuSool Black Belt is Alternate for US Jr. World Team

MuSool Black Belt Jason Midyette, his father Monty and Coach Shelby Creech returned to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs this past weekend so Jason could compete at the US Jr. World Team Trials Finals.

Jason had to qualify in December to be invited to the finals. The round robin event was held on January 9th and 10th and the top four from each division that competed in December were invited back.

Jason’s first match was against Washington States Jeffery Freeman and Jason won 4 to 1. His second match against Richard Yang from Maryland was at 1pm and Jason lost that match 0 to 1. Jason’s third match was against Plenty Glover from Colorado. Glover was forced to withdrawal from the match due to injury. This put Jason in to second seed and he would have to compete against the Richard Yang (now in first seed) once again. If Jason won they would have to fight a third time.

Jason beat Yang to force a third match against the two players. This time winner makes team and the second place finisher is the team alternate. Jason lost that match 3 to 1 but sparred at a new level. Jason’s first match was at 915am and finals were held at 730pm. MuSool Academy is very proud of Jason for putting on a great show at this momentous event.

MuSool Sport TaeKwonDo’s High Level Championships include AAU Florida State Championships in April, USAT Regional Championships, AAU National and Jr. Nationals, and USAT Nationals and Jr. Olympics. Of course the support association is always accepting tax deducatale donations to help these students reach their dreams. Contact Monty Midyette at mmidyette@cfl.rr.com and or Shelby Creech at the school and they can tell you how to donate.
